Personality Madness!

So I took the quick quiz called 'Get to know yourself better'. Here's the results <3

Your view on yourself:
Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.
Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.
The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.
Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.
The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.
How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.
What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.
Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Elizabeth David: Italian Food

Hello

As well as doing the small cooking challenges, there is project that I would love to do. Except as of now I don't have the time for it. I am currently in the run up to my final A2 exams in college, revision & classes are my main focus right now. However after I finish up and walk out of my final exam on the 27th June I will not have to be in another education institute until mid-September. WOOHOO! So for nearly 10 weeks, I will be focus on improving my life skills, my home and helping the family. So one project I would like to focus on during this summer holiday is completing every recipe in Elizabeth David's 'Italian Food'. Now don't start shouting that I'm attempting to do a cheap Julie and Julia project! I will blog occasionally about this project during summer however the main focus blog during the Summer will be on style and weight loss :)

I'm currently scanning YouTube to find easy recipe vids to try in prep for this adventure: this one of my faves so far!

Cooking Challenge 'uno'

Sorry about the break, for once the UK is having a different type of weather. SUN! You've got to love the seasons set-up in England. We appear to have missed Spring completely and moved straight on to Summer.
Anyhow here's my post:

To somewhat save myself from starving when I start university (and become more independent- shock horror!) I'm going to be trying my best to widen my cooking knowledge in the coming months. At the moment my cooking skill is what you could call 'limited'- well I know how to cook a boiled egg and not burn toast, for instance! So I've decided to try out a few recipes! Yep I know, I will most likely poison myself at first, but hopefully in time I will improve to perhaps a reasonable standard :)  The first cookbook I will  be using recipes from will be Weight Watcher's 'Fabulous & Filling'!

So to complete this first challenge I will cook two recipes:
  1. Smoked Salmon Linguine (P48)
  2. Morocan Lamb and Green Bean Stir Fry (P70)
I will post the results of this challenge next Friday.

Lets hope I don't burn the house down!

Weight 'Watchers' Loss Journey- 47 1/2 pounds and counting

So first post of the new blog. Here we go...
Ten days after my birthday last year, I decided that I needed to make a change. Weighing in at 13st2lbs or 83.8kg, a UK dress size of 18 (on a good day), I needed to lose weight.
The event that sparked my weight loss journey was trying on dresses. As a family we were going to (what I call) up-to-do restaurant, so to attempt to look a just a little bit formal, I started to try on evening dresses. Bad mistake. Big hit to the body confidence. Now I knew that Slimming World didn't work for me, I needed guidelines. Fad diets such as Atkins seemed extreme. Yet I had never heard anything negative about the dieting company 'Weight Watchers', so I decided to give it a go. Around 10 months later, and I've lost 3 1/2 stone.
I was inspired to start recording my weight loss by a story in the month Weight Watchers mag.  Bryher Hill, a lady who lost around 7st7lb seemed a true weight loss star! Yet the thing that most inspired me was her blog idea. When she started her weight loss journey, she also started a blog (Bryher's blog) . Reading through her article, I was struck by an idea. Well, okay..I politely robbed her idea. Since opening this blog I've wanted to include the day-to-day struggles of keeping to a diet. Yet self-doubt stopped me, I could clearly imagine embarrassing myself. Next my chatterbox, neatly located in the back of my mind, informed me that no-one would give a damn. Who cares?
So it finally got to a WW meeting, with my lovely WW leader Deb Haughton. While listening to the successes of my fellow WW members, I realised I had lost interest in losing weight. After achieving a loss of a few dress sizes, my energy for achieving my first goal of achieving a healthy BMI had dwindled. In the meeting I sit with my mother and few friends. Now the problem is that the front-seater's (as I call us) only talk about two things: Weight loss TV  programs and gorgeous baking treats. Not the best topics I know ha. Another topic that shone through was the problem of the once-a-week meeting was that by mid week we all seemed to have lull in our diets. Once again, I started to think about Bryher's blog. Maybe if I started to post weekly about my weekly struggles and successes I would start to find my inspiration again and the lull in my diet would slowly disappear. I'm going to try it out, so bear with me :)
Anyway large topic jump here: I really want to go and see 'Jane Eyre'
The idea of Mia Wasikowska , Michael Fassbender and Dame Judi Dench in one film amazes me. The production seems to follow horror style that is so prominent in the classic novel which is such a plus.

Times are Changing!

My life is changing. For the better, I hope.
I created this blog a while back, enjoying the image of myself as instant blogger success. Yeah, not happening. Blogs need their blogger to put effort in. Not simply post pictures every blue moon. So..
Here it is, the new blog!
I've changed the title, and will be soon editing the background to better suit the purpose of the blog. I've read up on the rules and typical features of ^good^ blogs, and I hope that my lil' blog will prosper because of it.
My plan for 'Love,Life, Vintage' is:
  • Life:
    • To follow my weight loss journey- I follow Weight Watchers and have lost around 3 1/2 stone. I've dropped from dress size 18 to 10. However I still want to lose a bit more. Hopefully this blog will encourage me to lose those few pounds.
    • To post parts of my life/ or events that inspire me- especially events that renew my love for life
  • Vintage:
    • I am currently changing my personal style to fit a more vintage/Golden Hollywood feel. I will post both pictures of stars and fashion that inspire me, and any completed projects I do.
I hope you will be able to bear with me through this learning process. Although I will get it wrong occasionally, the main purpose of this blog is to have FUN. I want to be able to commentate on life with all its joys and pains. Peace x

Inspiration: 40's Fashion

First I held him lightly and we started to dance
Then I held him tightly what a dreamy romance
And I said "Hey, baby, it's a quarter to three
It's a mess of moonlight, won't-cha share it with me"
"Well" he answered "Baby, don't-cha know that it's rude
To keep my two lips waitin' when they're in the mood"
